Totally and Utterly Confused
My computer is running Windows 11 and I am using MediaMonkey version 5.0.2.2532 which I have checked is the current version.
I am once again giving MediaMonkey 5 a try but still not really impressed and in particular I am struggling to import 5 playlists.
Each playlist is exported from MusicBee and is a .m3u file which MediaMonkey 5 is supposed to use also but when I do the "file add/rescan files....." bit, nothing is imported. Admittedly I have used Notepad to look at the files to be imported and I see that each entry has the format of
"D:\Music\Adele\21 [Limited Edition]\Someone Like You.mp3" (this is the actual path on my PC to the music track)
whereas if I create that in MediaMonkey 5 it has the format of
"#EXTINF:284,Adele - Someone Like You ..\..\Music\Adele\Love Songs (2018)\Someone Like You.mp3"
So that explains why the playlists are not importing because MediaMonkey 5 cannot read m3u files!
Does this mean I cannot import my existing playlists and am left with having to create these playlists again in MediaMonkey 5? If that's the case I think I'll stick with MusicBee which can't sync with my android phone but it is much more user friendly.
Any advice welcome.
Thanks

Re: Totally and Utterly Confused
Are you saying that they don't show under Playlists > Imported Playlists in the Media Tree? If not, is M3U checked to be scanned?
Do Playlists exported from MediaMonkey import?

Re: Totally and Utterly Confused
Yes the playlist files are selected but do not appear in the imported playlist section nor the playlist section itself.
And yes, all playlists exported from MediaMonkey are imported into MusicBee without any problems.

Re: Totally and Utterly Confused
The question is if Playlists exported from MediaMonkey import into MediaMonkey?
You don't directly answer if you checked the Playlist File Types to be scanned.
You can also try browsing to the Playlist files using the Folders node. Does MediaMonkey fail to see them there?

Sorry misunderstood so will check MM to MM tomorrow.
Yes I did check the Playlist File Types to be scanned.
Again will have to be tomorrow to try browsing to the Playlist files using the Folders node to see if MediaMonkey can see them there.
Thanks for the suggestions and will report back tomorrow

Re: Totally and Utterly Confused
OK so MediaMonkey will not import MediaMonkey playlists which were exported from itself??????????
Yes the files are checked/ticked for scanning but each time I run the scan it tells me how many files are now in the library, how many seconds the scan took, the fact that no files were imported or updated but then there is a line which I do not understand but it states
"Did not import 0 files (did not match import criteria). Failed to import 0 files"
It does not make sense, or at least it does not make sense to me.

Re: Totally and Utterly Confused
After scanning, open the "Playlists" node - You will then see the sub-node "Imported Playlists"
After the import you have to delete the playlist in the folder, otherwise it will be imported again and again.

Yes that is EXACTLY what I have been doing.
When I have time later I will uninstall MediaMonkey entirely. Reboot the PC and reinstall and see if that makes any difference.

Use the last Beta-Version (Link is in my signature)
I have now exported a playlist from MusicBee. FileName: TESTMusicbee.m3u
looks like:
Then I imported as described in 2 pictures.
MM5 started again - everything OK

Re: Totally and Utterly Confused
That likely means that either the File Type for the Playlist files isn't enabled to be added on scan or that MediaMonkey can't read the location where the Playlist files are located.
Can you browse the Playlists using the Folders node in the Media Tree?
