Easy way to import playlists [#19109 #19121]
EDIT: This is continuation of topic started at https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... p?t=101946 in order to separate two separate issues eg. "MM do not import playlist" issue and "How to better import playlist" issue.
@Lowlander - That's it
FoldersNode is the optimal solution. This allows you to select individual playlists and saves you having to deal with "Imported Playlists".
1. Under Folders, click the location of the exported playlists
2. Click on the desired playlist
3. Send to > Playlist > Send to New Playlist
4. New Playlist: rename
Source: FOLDERS
Result AFTER Send to > Playlist > Send to New Playlist
However, this method leaves traces:
This folder must be deleted again from Add/Rescan.

Re: Totally and Utterly Confused
I would like to say thank you so much to all those that have replied and offered assistance but unfortunately I have decided that MediaMonkey is not for me. I am sure MediaMonkey is what many people want but what I want is something that is user friendly and intuitive.
Although I have been using software and computers for more than 30 years I expect the importation of a playlist to consist of no more than clicking on FILE / PLAYLISTS / IMPORT PLAYLISTS which is a world away from the way MediaMonkey works so once again thank you everyone but I am happy to end this thread with a goodbye to MediaMonkey.

@Ludek
@Lowlander
Maybe you should implement my idea for simplified import of playlists:
And in such a way: that the M3U file to be imported is entered with the same name.
Avoid going through "Imported Playlists".
Also ideal would be: multiple selection.

Hi,
You can easily create single playlist by right click send to Playlist and create new playlist with selected playlist content.
As pointed in pic below Only thing I see as a bug (more tweak) is that right playlist name is not parsed te new playlist you want to create?
Other benefit is that you have full controll where you import playlist and how.

Re: Totally and Utterly Confused
Thank you Pavle, I am familiar with this technique.
I see the fact that the name of the playlist is adopted as a sensible further development.
The downside is that the path and m3u filename are automatically added in Add/Rescan.
This is not the case in MM4.

Hi,
You are right, it is a bit strange behavior.
I have split the topics and created https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=19109 for tracking new feature/tweak/bug.
Let me know if I missed anything?

Re: Totally and Utterly Confused
That's exactly how MediaMonkey works. Just run Add/Rescan Files and they'll import. This is unless the Playlist files themselves are non functioning due to their paths being invalid.Matrixmainframe wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 2:53 amI expect the importation of a playlist to consist of no more than clicking on FILE / PLAYLISTS / IMPORT PLAYLISTS which is a world away from the way MediaMonkey works

@rusty

or is it a BUG?

You need to scan the folder containing the Playlist file you want added. Scanning the Playlist directly doesn't work: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=19121
