MediaMonkey5 appears stuck/frozen

Post by aag »

First of all, this isn't a huge issue, but it happens often enough to be sufficiently annoying for this post.

I use MM5 on my Windows desktop, which is accessed, 99% of the time via macOS RDP client. Very often, upon reconnecting, MM would be unresponsive. That is, entirely black screen (no controls or text drawn). I can select or unselect the app from the taskbar tray, but cannot close it from there: the only way to get out of this state is to kill it from Process Explorer.

In this state, the process seems to have a bunch of active threads, but nothing above 2% CPU. The following thread seems steady at 2%:

Code: Select all

ntoskrnl.exe!KeSynchronizeExecution+0x67a6
ntoskrnl.exe!KeLowerIrql+0x16d7

Which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey are you using?

5.0.4.2690, but the error had been occurring with previous 5.0 builds, too.

Also, not sure if relevant, particularly considering RDP, but the machine does have an nVidia GPU (1660).

You could try running MediaMonkey_NoGPU.bat.
