Analyzing and normalizing volume

Post by dtsig »

Has anyone done this with a *sizable* (140K track) library? Did it work? Are the volumes really normalized? Would you do it again?. I am analyzing right now and it will take days. Before modifying the tracks i just wanted to hear how it went for others.

Thanks
DSig

Hi,
I never Normalize Volume leveling only Analyze. It is non invasive method for Audio Data, so you can always remove in case of any issue. Aprox 70% of my library 200k is analyzed and played leveled. That is enough for me.

Also I can always normalize for devices I want and in level I want, keeping originals intact.

Hi,
I created Auto-Playlist of random 5k that do not have volume analyze and do this in batches. Each Refresh gives me new set of tracks.

Criteria Leveling is unknown (under Others) and Limit to x files.

When selecting a new Criteria to Add to an AutoPlaylist the bottom of the Criteria list has Others > Leveling (in MMW5.1).
