WMM5 Win11 Crash ??

Hi all,
just recently consolidated all my Audio libraries (iTunes, Amazon and MP3) under WMM5 latest version running Windows 11 64 bit. Especially in the MP3 directory I might have albums where WMM wants to update the albun graphics. If I confirm I can do this excatly for 2 albums, regardless of format or number of titles, and WMM just hangs locking the UI so that the only way out is a brute force restart of the PC - no log files being qritten, if I am lucky I can find an entry in the event log of Win 11 telling me about the WMM.EXE being dead - that's all. I can certainly replicate this behaviour with no limits and I am just wondering, if someone has an idea how to proceed or to go about it instead of searching for another iTunes replacement. Any ideas? Any helpful feedback and input is more than welcome!!

Which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey are you using and is the problem with using Auto-Tag?

Hi,
In addition to above you can use steps from viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86643 but set DBGView to directly save log to file in realtime (File -> Log to file as ... so that last line in log file will be one before hard reset.

That would give us info what last happened in MM to cause the freeze.

OK - running version 5.0.4.2690 und Win 11 22H2 Build 22621.1702

I an't remember actively changing any default settings - so if there is something regarding Auto-Tag that needs to be switsched off please advise and I'll check. I'll also try to follow-up on the referenced process/tool for bug reporting - I'll report progress or updates accordingly

In the meantime I've installed the debug version of my MM5 version as portable version in C:\Mediamonkey 5

After 2 edits of Album covers incl. replacement of existing cover art the MM5 app was hanging again - yet still NO debug files in the 2 debug directories. Only indicator is in the Windows Eventlog:

Further testing done over the weekend. I somehow have the suspicion that the problem has something to do with WIN 10/11 security auto marking directories read-only. I manually remove the RO flag for 1 directory and was able to perform various cover modifications without hangs. Windows Security does turn RO flag automatically back on and after a short while the app was hanging again. As said this is just a suspicion and needs to be confirmed and what can be done about it... In case there is any feedback I am certainly happy to hear about it!
