Thanks for the update!
Note to everyone else: can you also confirm that the issues you experienced are fixed in build 1079 (currently available as a beta)?
Thanks!

Hi rusty,
Unfortunately this was not fixed in build 1079 for me. Still getting spinning ring animation after connecting to AA following prolonged inactivity.
FWIW here is another debug log: CSLPPFQFFS
Thanks!!

trptmd,
Thanks! To confirm, is the behaviour with 1079 the same as you reported last time? i.e.

-RustyWhen I bring up MMA on AA, now it will show a spinning orange ring animation in the middle of the screen. I can still navigate to artists, albums, etc but can't resume playback of what was playing before. It will still show "preparing playback service" notification on my phone when this happens.
After starting playback on my phone, MMA on AA will work as usual.

Correct, this is the same behavior as you have quoted. Thank you for your diligence!

Unfortunately, we're having trouble replicating this. Have you tried your phone with any other Android Auto devices (I'm wondering if the bug is specific to the DMH-1770NEX) ?
Anyone else still experiencing this in build 1079?

Re: Playback disabled in Android Auto (MMA 2) [#19708, #19864, #19994]
OK here are some updates. Hopefully some of this will be of help.
- I tried clearing MMA app data and restarting the phone to see if it made a difference. It did. Now I am not getting the ring animation anymore. MMA will come up on Android Auto but still won’t resume on head unit if I have not used for about 4 hours or more. Works as intended after play is resumed on phone.
- I replicated this behavior using my same phone and a different AA head unit, a Kenwood DMX709S. Same exact behavior as described above.
- This behavior is not new for my setup. It was this way with MMA non-beta.
- I do have other apps (Pocket Casts, Smart Audiobook Player) that can and do resume play on AA after prolonged nonuse.
Happy to be of service if I can help in any way.

Thanks for your help with this. We were able to replicate and fix the inability to resume the Playing list on Android Auto in certain cases. Details at https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=20017
Can you confirm whether it works for you?
Thanks!

Re: Playback disabled in Android Auto (MMA 2) [#19708, #19864, #19994]
Thanks for the fix! Now it will show "Resume Playback" as an option in the player window on AA if not recently active, and upon selecting that, playback will resume as usual.
So now I can resume playback without having to open MMA on the phone which is great.
A suggested improvement - perhaps this is already in the works - it seems like the ideal behavior is to show the song with play/back/forward buttons upon starting AA initially without having to select "Resume Playback."
Thanks again!!!

Re: Playback disabled in Android Auto (MMA 2) [#19708, #19864, #19994]
I think the issue is that the metadata for the currently playing track may not be available in which case the 'resume playback' workaround solves that problem.
