Multiple copies of tracks after sync

Hello, not sure if this is a MMW or MMA issue. Everything was working fine until I had an SD card die, now I'm getting duplicates of a number of tracks in my library, and thousands of songs are failing to convert/download.

- I have almost 20K files in my MMW library, mostly flac files, almost 500GB.
- Tracks are stored in 2 main folders (artists 0-L and M-Z)
- Phone has 128GB internal memory, add-on SD card has 128GB
- Sync on MMW is set up to convert all files >256Kbps to MP3 "extreme" quality
- Under Devices & Services, phone internal storage is set up as sync location for folder M-Z
- Under Devices & Services, phone SD card is set up as sync location for folder 0-L plus a couple others
- With each sync, I see numerous artists/albums that are supposed to be in one location in the other
- I have searched for duplicates on the PC, and there are none of the tracks in question
- Previously I was able to get entire library on phone, now phone contains about 6600 tracks after completing sync multiple times

Which version of MMA and MMW (Help > About) are you using and are you doing a wi-fi or USB Sync?

How exactly did you setup Sync to sync files to the 2 separate storages on the device?

MMW Version 5.0.4.2690
MMA Version 2.0.0.1086
Wi-fi sync

I set up sync to the separate locations in MMW>Devices & Services>[Internal storage OR SD card]>Sync List (Library->Device)>Music>Location>[Browsed to respective folders to be synced]

Do you have any other selections like Playlists? The Sync List is an inclusive selection, not exclusive. So selecting a specific Location and a Playlist would Sync both, not limit 1 with the limited selection of the other.

Ahh, yes, I am trying to sync playlists as well. So you're saying that the file for the playlist itself is not all that is being sync'd, it will also create copies of all the files on the playlist in the selected location? If so, that is probably the issue with the multiple copies.

That still does not explain why thousands of files are failing to sync, but that's probably a topic for another post considering how I titled this post.

Yes, selected Playlists Sync the files on the Playlists.

Does Sync state that files failed to Sync? If so, do failed files actually play in MMW (just test a few)?

I have unchecked playlists in sync, and am in process of re-syncing. Files were deleted (I assume the playlist copies) in both locations, and it appears that thousands more files are now being downloaded to the phone. It takes hours to process this many tracks, I'll let you know when it's done.

You can send a log right after wi-fi Sync fails to Sync all files and reply here with the logID: viewtopic.php?t=72208

This will allow a developer to analyze why this may have happened on your setup.
