Songs that are moved on top of playlists end somewhere in the middle [#20173]
When I have a playlist open and take one song with the mouse and let it drop on top of another playlist it usually lands there on place 2 or 3. It should always be at the beginning or at the end of the playlist (which it never is), I would prefer to have it at the end.

Where exactly do you have the Playlist open? The panel, in the Filelisting or another tab?

Re: Songs that are moved on top of playlists end somewhere in the middle
I am not so sure about the wording...
I use the tree to the left and open the list of playlists by clicking on the small triangel to the left of "playlists". Then I click on one of those playlists and the songs are listed in the middle of the window. I select one song (or multiple songs) from these and drag it with the mouse from the middle window on one of the playlists on the left. When I now check this playlist I see that the song(s) I have moved are neither on 1st nor on the last position, usually at spot 2 or 3.
If there is another way how to copy a song from one playlist to the other with the mouse I haven't found out how to do it yet.
Edit: I tested a little bit more and have found out that this only happens when I move the song to a sub-playlist (but then it happens all the time).

Re: Songs that are moved on top of playlists end somewhere in the middle
Copy/Move is not the issue.
I also get the 1st position when I drag on a "simple" playlist*. But when I drag on a nested playlist (or should I say "secondary"?) I never get 1st (or last) position. And yes, I talk about the Media Tree.
* I have playlists that are organized by a parent playlist that has no songs and multiple sub-playlists which contain the songs, e.g. "Musician" as parent and "Musician ***" and "Musician ****" as sub-playlists which only are seen when double clicking the parent or pressing the small triangle to the left.
PS: I really see this all the time. Not sure how to explain it more clearly...

Please capture this in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: viewtopic.php?t=86643
This will help a developer analyze why this happens on your setup.

Re: Songs that are moved on top of playlists end somewhere in the middle
I have created this ticket:
Ticket #6131: "Songs that are moved on top of a sub-playlist end somewhere in the middle"
It was very easy to reproduce, this time the song ended at place 4 of the new (sub-)playlist.

Hi,
I am unable to reproduce adding into middle of playlist, for me it ads track to bottom of playlist.

Re: Songs that are moved on top of playlists end somewhere in the middle
I have made a screen capture to show what I am doing. It can de downloaded here:
https://magentacloud.de/s/ddCKScBSNza4BkE
In the playlist "Test xxxxx" are only 5-star-songs and I drag and drop a 1-star-song onto it and it lands in spot 2. It seems to be so simple...

It seems to happen under very specific conditions, added as: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=20173

Re: Songs that are moved on top of playlists end somewhere in the middle [#20173]
Thank you!
One addition: The file doesn't need to come from a child playlist, originally it can be from anywhere.
