Sync MM5 to portable memory device - no nested single folder

Post by thomasjohnlynch »

I have been using MM for a few years on Windows, Android, but not aware I have posted much here ever?? stuff just runs great and not having any problems.......however I have a H2O TRI PRO waterproof headset for cycling and swimming.

The problem is in memory play mode the device requires one to push headset buttons to move to the next folder/artist and then will play the folder the folders are alphabetical so wanting ZZZ top or Moody Blues or Pearl Jam means pointing and pushing a button on the side of your head, click, click, click ........... this is cumbersome while cycling and even more so while swimming??? :o

Instead of having nested music by artist and album etc I simply want to put multiple playlists and songs or maybe simply create a "H2O HEADSET" playlist of multiple artists and songs..... but then put them under a single folder on the memory device called lets say MM?

I don't need or want to "sync" this device so a bidirectional back to MM is not needed/wanted. I don't need MM to cleanup non-playlist songs as I can just DELETE everything in file manager and pushout the whole playlist. Or maybe MM can wipe and only export/sync the songs in the playlist??

Hi,
you are on the right track. Here is How I thought about it try editing sync properties and instead default one use "<Auto Number:2> <Playlist>\<Auto Number:3> <Title> - <Artist>" and then in settings only select playlist you want on device.

I would also select delete every media on device and resync all, but that is optional in case you do not get desired behavior.

Result of such Sync would be that Each folder (named by name of Playlist in Palylist Order of Syncing) would contain tracks from playlist with filenames ordered by number -> Title -> Artist (eg. 01 Running list\001 Breakthru - Queen.mp3)

You need to play around to get exactly what you want.

HINT: Using Configure will get you dialog that will preview how it will look on device.

okay played around with this a little and had to delete the Music Monkey sub directory and the playlist subdirectory. I have two "flat" sindle sub directories off of root that are Music and music folder. I will go with this for the moment as there are 37 and 48 songs in them. I don't swim that long!!! <wink>
