Purchasing an S24+ to replace my S22+.
I was about to purchase an S24+ to replace my S22+. Anyone recommend using Samsung's Smart Switch? Phone to phone? Start from scratch installing everything on the new phone?

For MediaMonkey I usually do fresh start. You could do a last Sync with MM from the old device (to get Play History and tag changes), then setup a new Sync with the new device.

This part I don't understand exactly. Smart Switch would copy over content like this? You could do a last Sync with MM from the old device (to get Play History and tag changes)

I believe it does, but I'd use MediaMonkey and a fresh Sync instead. However I don't store much on my devices so only Apps are of interest to transfer and Play store does this already.

I'm curious to know how you went about it and where you successful?
I'm in the same boat. I used smart switch to copy over the MMA app & data as well as the contents of the /Music & /Playlist folders from my S20FE to my new S24. It ended up that MMA (after scanning and pairing [ not sure what pairing does] didn't get the correct Artwork for some random selection of tracks. I'm about to start again with a clean reinstall of MMA (Lowlander's recommendation) . Curious about your experience.

[Without going into too many details] I removed the music folder from the S22+. Only after this, I used Smart Switch from S22+ to the S24+. Finally, I used MM5 to do a wired sync to the S24+ [mostly for the music]

Hey there! Samsung’s Smart Switch is great for quick data transfers, but starting fresh can give you a cleaner setup with fewer issues. It depends on whether you prefer ease or a fresh start.TheEmpathicEar wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2024 12:37 pm I was about to purchase an S24+ to replace my S22+. Thx. That is true. A clean start is usually better
