Hi,
Please note that hardware acceleration off usually points to hardware and drivers issues rather than software. Even other apps do not crash, but they maybe do not use all the resources.

Like you pointed if there is a crash log and debug logs it is easier to track and fix.

That said fight keeps on ;)

I kinda understand what your saying. But mediamonkey uses way less resourches compaired to other software / heavy games i run, even emulation of games like playstation2, nintendo gamecube/wii/switch don't crash (total list of emulators i use is 22). Or using virtualmachines, like proxmox/virtualbox/vmware/hyper-v, or local LLM(ai) that run on cpu or gpu. I then would expect those heavy games, or other software to crash aswell, but they don't. Even chromium browser it self never crashes, and that usually uses about 5to8gb of memory after few hours, with about 250tabs used(about half of them i use daily). Always loading my latest saved session. So i keep al my websites open. They do get loaded in a suspended state, until i click open te website.
Somewhere next year gonne buy a new laptop and see how it goes then, hope there will be new releases with a decent NPU for AI , and should be a gaming laptop of minimum of 64gb ram. Should have decent cpu/gpu, but will see what is available then. For now still happy with my main.
I am using MediaMonkey on my Retro Systems, using the latest Beta build on Windows 11. Managing ~54k files

Resource, do not play here as HW ACC access is just driver vased eg. MM tries to access low level to hardware and use announced Direct HW to improve sound quality, lag and depend as less as possible to Windows calls. Take into account every user specific setup because we "unfortunately" let users customize MM in most cases multiple ways it gets harder to fetch issues :(
