[Req] Add option to not have the cursor obscure tooltips/popups

Post by peter_h »

I have an enlarged cursor setting, on all my machines (helpful for my failing eyesight).
This means, however, that, due to the positioning of MM's tooltips and popups, that text that appears is obscured and often impossible to read, without moving the cursor... which often means that the popup disappears. :\

e.g.

REQUEST: Any chance of adding an option to either:
  • Have the right side of the popup box appear at the cursor's position, instead of the left side.
  • Add an x-character-size padding to the left vertical side of the popup box(es), so the text is pushed over to the right
My preference would be for the popups to be right-side-aligned, so instead of this....

... it's like this:

As a recovering Repetive-Strain-Injuree, I appreciate any and all mousing efficiency considered into a GUI, no matter how small the improvement. So another side benefit of this, for me, would be less distance for the mouse to travel when needing to select any of the secondary-level menu options below in the context popup (which I seem to do quite often), e.g....

Thanks for considering! :)

Currently evaluating a migration from MM4 (4.1.31.1919 on Win7 SP1/16Gig RAM/intel) to MM2024 (latest Debug version on Win11 24H2/16GB RAM/intel)

**If you're wondering why I'm still on MM4: It still has more useful-to-me plugins; and I prefer the GUI's responsiveness, panes spreadable over multi-monitors flexibility, and predictability (all coz it's more Windows-native). I also hate "flat design" for its visual inefficiency. For me, MM4's benefits are still > MM5, and MM5's downsides < MM4. There still appears to be way less MM5 plugins -- even after all this time. MM5 docs for plugin developers seem very undeveloped to me -- which makes me uninclined to invest into learning how to improve MM5 for my own wants.
