Hi,
Can you please generate debug log during installation as noted here https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=86643 it may help us where MM fail exatly and try to filter things out.
You can send us ZIP-ed debug log in support ticket.
I added this as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=21283

Re: Error on installing MediaMonkey (deskplayer.dll locked) [#21283]
I created the log but can't seem to log in to MantisBT; I can't remember my account's username and password, and can't figure out how to create a new account there.
BTW the ticket is incorrect - I'm on Windows 10, not 11.

Hi,
Mantis is closed platform and read only for users. You can attach ZIP file with logs at https://www.mediamonkey.com/support

THX, I corrected it applies to both Windows arm versions. What device model you actually have and have Win Arm OS installed?Yerushalmi wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 3:48 pm BTW the ticket is incorrect - I'm on Windows 10, not 11.

Hi,
I checked the log and it appears not MM issue MM installation ended normally. Interesting issue as it seams that error is withing regsvr32 not MM installation eg. The rare error you are seeing is either caused by insufficient Windows User Account permissions or by overzealous anti-virus software. In other words, it is not caused by the MM installer but by something on your PC.
Can you try installing MM as Portable (Tick portable installation) and see if you see the error.
I would also suggest you run an SFC scan and check for corrupted files. System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. Please refer to the link below and check if it helps: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833

Re: Error on installing MediaMonkey (deskplayer.dll locked) [#21283]
I still got the error on portable installation. Here's the log:
In contrast, the portable installation gave me that set of [12820] items before the error appeared.
I ran an SFC scan; no issues were found.
Regarding the other theories:
* There is only one user account on this computer, mine, and I'm running the installation as administrator
* I have no antivirus software except the default that Microsoft provides with Windows.
I don't know if it's relevant, but I noticed that during the regular installation literally nothing appeared in DebugView about the error. The error gives three options (retry, ignore, undo) and even if I click "retry" several times, DebugView is still blank. It's only after I click "ignore" (twice, because the error shows up twice) that things start to get printed to the log.[12820] FullTrustNotifier

Re: Error on installing MediaMonkey (deskplayer.dll locked) [#21283]
This should be fixed in the next build (3069+). Can you confirm once it's released (should be soon)?
Thanks!
