Can't able to remove devices from UPnP/DLNA List

Post by monkeyfan1970 »

Hello,

I am totally aware that MMW4 is not supported or would be updated. I am running MM 4.1.31.1919. I can hope for a Hot fix to address this issue?

I am trying to remove couple of device from UPnP/DLNA List. When I click remove, they are removed. But When I Press OK 2x and return back to see the List, the devices that I tried to remove is still shown.

How can I remove the devices? If this is a bug, how can I can remove it manually. May I know where are these stored? Would I be able to edit the preference file manually to remove the devices.

Thank you.

If MM4 is not going to get a hotfix, how can I edit the database file to remove the old devices?

What software should I use to open the MM.db file?

Thank you.

I believe I finally manage to remove devices from UPnP/DLNA List. And it does work.

Here are the steps.

1. Back Up MM.DB and all your settings and configurations: Before making any changes, back up the MM.DB file to avoid any accidental data loss. You can typically find this file in: C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\MM.DB (Windows)

2. Download an SQLite Editor: Use a tool like DB Browser for SQLite (free and user-friendly) to open and edit the database file. https://github.com/sqlitebrowser/sqlitebrowser

3. Open MM.DB in the SQLite Editor, Launch the SQLite editor and open the MM.DB file. Look for MediaConnections and RemoteClients.

For Clearing all the devices

For Clearing Server Status

Select all the data and delete them.

4. Save the Database.

5. Open MM4. All your Server Status and devices should be removed.

6. For additional optimisation, you can also execute "Maintain Library".

I believe for MM4 users this is the best option.

Thanks.
