I am finding the latest RC 3081 (non-debug) is very slow to start for me.
Takes about 8-10 seconds for the main screen to display, and then a few more second for the monitoring to complete.

Re: Latest RC is very slow to start for me
This was typical for me for the last couple of days. The list was loading 1500 out of my 14k total library. Changing this to "all files" makes no noticeable difference.
Meanwhile, I received my 24H2 update, and after the first start of MM, which took 8 seconds, subsequent starts have been under 3 seconds. So, I will let you know if it recurrs.
Conspiracy theory alert - I wonder if Microsoft throttles our computers prior to a big update, so we are all thrilled by how much better it is ......

Not really a conspiracy, microsoft is know, that to force people to upgrade, to turn options and extra services on, in those later updates, to make those pc's feel slower.
That said, most proberbly cause is for your slowness is that the updates where already being downloaded in the days before you got the prompt to update and kept in memory. And those things are kept in memory (not shown in taskmanager as process memory, but do show in the % graph). So hitting max memory earler and making your pc a bit slower, as it can use less memory for your default actions. A real reboot solves this issue after updating.
A lot of people on reddit encouter those "bugs" during abnormal high memory uses, when they actually have almost nothing open. Then when you update your pc, and reboot, the high memory issues are not pressent anymore.
Any issues for you with 24H2?
I have been testing it for 2months, and have found some annoying bugs in it, that kept me from updating my main systems.
- Games not starting.
- Audio freezes in games.
Also some new bugs have been found for external usb audio devices:
