Hi,
This new version numbering is so bad and confusing. Before everyone knew when a new major version was released (v4, v5, ...) and small updates had numbers after that version.
How can I know now if this is a small update or a whole new version? I usually do a clean installation when a new version is released (moving from v4 to v5) because the program is completely different.
So please tell me, is V2024 like V6, or can I safely install it over version 5.0.5.2695? How can I know in the future when a new major version will be released if the program is numbered by year?
Thank you.
New version V2024 is like V6?

You can safely install over the existing MediaMonkey 5, it's an update to MediaMonkey (unlike MediaMonkey 4 > 5). It is a major release requiring a new version License (Lifetime Licenses get a free upgrade).
The next year update will be the next major release.
The next year update will be the next major release.

Re: New version V2024 is like V6?
I just updated and I had to return to the previous version 5.0.5.2695, because it worked flawlessly.
Bugs in V2024:
1- My music library shows that my music files are using approximately 50% more disk space than they actually do.
2- When I scan for changes in my library, it adds some APE files that don't exist, and in the next scan, it removes them, and so on.
(I have tried rebuilding the music library, but it didn't change anything.)
3- I have a strange screen popup that appears while launching MediaMonkey alongside with MediaMonkey logo.

1. Can you please show with a screenshot?
2. Can you please capture this in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: viewtopic.php?t=86643

Is Version 2025 Next?
I don't like the new versioning either. I just had to accept it. Is the next major version going to be v2025?
Re: New version V2024 is like V6?
Sorry, I can't. I no longer have this version installed, and I am also not a beta tester. I had to restore my Windows image to a previous state after the update because reinstalling the previous version and setting everything up again takes a long time.Lowlander wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 10:25 pm 1. Unfortunately without more information this will be hard to fix as no other reports have come in about this.
