MMA Won't Play FLAC Files

Post by Dan Pappathopoulos »

MMW: 5.0.5.2695 (Windows 10)
MMA: 2.0.2.1222
DAP: Hiby R5 Gen 2 (Android: 8.1.0)

I have a brand new Hiby with a brand new install of MMA. I just synced my library from MMW to MMA via USB for the first time. My library contains three file types. (MP3, M4A & FLAC) MMA will not play any of the FLAC songs. The songs appear in the various nodes, but when MMA tries to play them, it skips over them as if it can't find the file, and eventually gets to a song/file type it can play.
For what it is worth:
The songs play just fine on MMW.
The native Hiby music player plays all three file types (including the FLAC's) just fine.
MMW states FLAC is among the supported file types on the Hiby/Android device.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

You'll need to investigate if the device actually supports the FLAC files (including the sample rate/bit depth combo of your FLAC files) as MMA can only play what the device supports.

And that is the real trick. I've scoured Hiby's webpages and can't find that specific information. Does anybody out there have information on what Hiby's R5 Gen 2 supports in terms of FLAC and their sample rate/bitrate?
