Hi guys!
After all those years, there still seems to be no reliable form of integration or API for MM?
The only thing that actually did work sometimes with MM4 (partly with MM5) was MediaMonkeyNet for dot.net or the rainmeter-plugin from the same author (Kudos to you btw). Both seem abandoned for 2yrs now.
I don't necessarily need remote-control, but just polling at least currently-playing-data. Is there any way (that reliably works)?
I so want to integrate MM into my smart-home, but I have no idea how.

Re: Integration? API?
Hi,
Good question, we improved MM 2024 scripting regarding TypeScript and also I think that https://github.com/mmuffins/MediaMonkeyNet should still be valid source, even 2yrs old.
If you find anything not working please let us know as primarily we do not code in dot.net
But can provide help if needed.

For remote control this can be used: https://mediamonkey.com/wiki/Controllin ... plications or controlling via http requests to our server ( /sampleScripts/remoteControl/ )
But there are already several remote control apps for MM5:
MMRemote: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ote5&hl=cs
MonkeyMote: https://www.monkeymote.com/home

Re: Integration? API?
Hey Peke!
But I helped myself with a tiny addon-script that just writes all data to a file and my app reacting to it. Not the most elegant solution but I really only needed this to integrate it and to work 100%.
Should anyone else care about that, I can just upload it.
MM.Net does still work. Sadly not very reliably. Sometimes it just stops and only works again after restarting MM.Peke wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 3:34 pm Good question, we improved MM 2024 scripting regarding TypeScript and also I think that https://github.com/mmuffins/MediaMonkeyNet should still be valid source, even 2yrs old.

Re: Integration? API?
Ah thank you, those I already found, but deemed not helpful (for me and my use-case). RC is not of importance right now, just getting track and playlist-info. Which I now have, see my reply to Peke. Thanks anyway, for RC i will get back to thoseLudek wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 3:40 pm For remote control this can be used: https://mediamonkey.com/wiki/Controllin ... plications

Re: Integration? API?
This has been a sore spot for a long time, and it’s surprising how little progress there’s been on something so basic. Relying on abandoned plugins is fine until it suddenly isn’t, especially if you’re trying to wire it into a smart-home setup that expects consistency.
