Issue with Moving to a New PC
I have been using Media Monkey for several years on an older Dell Laptop. I have almost 4000 songs in my library and about 15 playlists. I have been syncing this with my Android phone. I had to get a new laptop because the old one does not support Windows 11. I have been able to move my music with no problem. It is in a different folder location, USERS\MYNAME\MUSIC versus USERS\OWNER\MUSIC. It took me many hours to create my playlists but every method I have seen to export and import them has failed. There has got to be a reliable way to import the playlists and update the file locations in them. I can't believe I will have to spend hours recreating them from scratch. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Issue with Moving to a New PC
Did you take a copy of the Media Monkey 2024 database from the old laptop? It is the file MM5.db and normally found under the AppData folder in the MediaMonkey5 folder.
I thought that if you took this file and used it with the new laptop, then it would ask for the location of the music files. This would then "import" the playlists from the old laptop AND update the location of the contents. Been many many months since I did this but it worked (with a few issues related to Auto-Playlists and Hierarchical Playlist as I recall).
I would recommend that you regularly use:
1). File / Manage Database / Backup...
2). File / Export / Export All Playlists
to provide a copy of your MM5.DB and the "text" M3U playlist files.
Hope this helps

Please see the migration guide.
1. If you migrate the database (which contains the Playlists), you'll need to use Locate Moved/Missing Files to match the file to their new location.
2. If you want to import exported Playlists you'll need to edit each Playlist (in Notepad) to change the Paths to the new Paths for all files on the Playlists. Then you can import them.

It's asking me to buy MM Gold to locate missing files when trying to restore my database. Is there a way to do this on the free version or is Gold necessary?
I am swapping my rig to Mac in the coming weeks otherwise I'd buy Gold in a second... But a workaround for this next two weeks would be most helpful.

That's a Gold feature.
