Convert Audio Format

Post by Guest »

I have searched everywhere, and I may have missed it, but...

I cannot convert my files into different audio formats. I get a message box that reads, "Due to licensing issues, the free version of MediaMonkey can not bundle MP3 encoding functionality beyond the 30-day trial period."

What the hell is this...I just downloaded and installed MM 2 days ago.

I did have it installed a while back, but had to un-install b/c I screwed up the Genre labels in the .mdb file.

HELP ME PLEASE!!!! NEED TO CONVERT FILES TO PROPER FORMAT!!!!!!

monkey hide a log of the last time it was in the computer, where it is i don't know.

and nobody will say it is to kept monkey from being passed around on the p2p system.

so once installed they can't take it out and pass it on to some one else that had the older version and unistalled it to get next newest free version and restart the timed set for the free mp3 converting.

mp3 is a copyright format, the people at monkey have to pay for a lic to use it, so it is only fair they make us pay for a lic to use it with monkey.

not any other choice then to buy the gold verison if you want to convert songs to mp3 files using monkey..

you can get cdex and convert wav's to mp3 with it. then scan them in to monkey's database take all the information from the songs already in monkeys database and move it to the new mp3. but that is only one song or album at a time. still you get your mp3 files and you get your information put in to the properties of the file.

tons of work but if your doing things on the cuff, then thats how you do it.

if you can buy things online then buy monkeys lifetime lic and don't worry about it again.

I have never had this problem before with MM. Is this something new with the release that came out in September? I am only trying to go from a high bitrate to 128. I like all my mp3s to be at a bitrate of 128 (I know how many mp3s will fit on a disc at that bitrate)

I have plans on buying it :D , but not until I get my financial aid 8) !!! Paycheck barely covers the rent! :-?

Thanks for your help.

PS: What part of Texas are you from, rovingcowboy...if that is not too personal a question!

You can replace the default time restricted lame_enc.dll with non-restricted one (try http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php ... d_page#MP3 or google for lame_enc.dll).

Alternatively you can choose to support MM and upgrade to the gold version which is un-restricted and has more features.
