License Change?

I had been trialing MediaMonkey and liking what I was seeing. Meanwhile my son decided to be creative and thought he'd do me a favor by going ahead and registering my copy of program though obviously questionable means (this sparked a rather interesting family discussion).

To rectify this I had two options. I could remove the software or I could register it the right way. I decided to register it and purchased a lifetime registration.

Now my question is, I'd like to replace the license information in the product now with the information I just received. How can I do that?

remove the old registration from the registry @

hkey current user\software\songs-db

You can do it directly in the registry:
Start->Run, type: regedit
locate:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Songs-DB
Double click on Password and UserName and change them to the correct information you just received!

Thanks. Good to go and I'm glad to be onboard.

Now I need to figure out if this will meet most of my needs so that I can retire dBpoweramp for much of what it was doing.

Nothing against them but I continually find it to be buggy and confusing to use.

I suspect MediaMonkey can't convert files from one format to another so I may still need dBpa for that purpose but their iPod stuff (Sveta) no longer works with their latest release and it often screws up the iPod.

Convert files from one format to another shouldn't be any problem with MM.
Hit F1 and read about it in the help file.

IMO, MM is far superior to dbpoweramp for all except ripping (r12 reference), and mass replay gain scanning (r12 references + replay gain dsp), and possibly a larger variety of conversion formats (mp4 etc).

dbpoweramp is not really suited for total library management, although it does have some unique/powerful features.

MM CAN sync/convert to ipods (altho not to mp4 files), check out the options for portable/audio devices, configure your sync profile options to auto-convert to your preferences.

I just tripped over the conversion abilities. It does seem to have some decent options there but it is way short of the formats dbpoweramp supports.

I found it a bit confusing that the only place I see the option to convert is via the icon on the toolbar. Right-clicking didn't give me that option and I didn't see it in the menus.

Once there I see it could benefit from a lot of other formats. Can't convert to APE or WMA lossless or Apple lossless. Flac's about it for lossless but it's still pretty impressive.

Any idea how I can essentially wipe my iPod Photo so that I can just return it to normal for syncing with MediaMonkey?

It would also be great if MM supported different settings for different units of the same type. My wife and I both have iPods but we rip to them at different settings.

there conversion menu under tools.

I agree that it should be available somewhere (ideally as a 'tools' submenu) on the right click menu.

yea, the convert to types are somewhat limited with MM, although the advantages of those other file types are typically negligible.

I think the main problem with the limitation is that itunes etc does not support flac, and with MM not supporting ALAC or aac conversion, it sucks if you need to use both.
