The mask goes in the field labelled "field mask". There is no user guide because this script is just creating/editing/deleting images, not anything complicated. Choose the option that matches what you want to do, change the settings to match your requirements and then use the confirmation screen to make sure the changes are what you were expecting before you proceed. I'd recommend trying it out on a small sample of tracks first, if you're worried about messing up your library.

Thanx Trix,

Actually - I now understand what I want to do; I want to remove all artworks that are linked, and keep all the ones that are imbedded, in every MP3 files in my library.
Can your script do that?

Install Bex's Tagging Inconsistencies script. The "Albums with..." node will tell you all about how your album art is stored (or not). Then use Trixmoto's script to sort it all out.

Hi MM3,
Many thousand thanx!! :-)
That tip was fantastic!
At last I can see the light in the end of my library tunnel....
But still, I need a way to remove album links from my library - even after finding (isolating) only albums with liked art files (28.974 of them), the art tagger does not offer a way to remove only the link and leave the remianing (embedded) arts intact... or ?

Hi Trixmoto. :)
I have a specific case and i'm not sure your sript can help me but better ask than give up.
I have 2 versions of each front cover. One is called Front and rather large (usually 1400*1400). The other one is small (256*256) and is called folder.jpg. I made sure to save this one as basic jpg for rockbox compatibility. I would like to send this one, and this one alone to my Sansa Fuze.
I know i can extract artwork to any given path and tried using this feature to send the cover to my fuze as it's more configurable than the built-in sync. However it sent the big file, scaled down but obviously some of those are progressive jpgs and don't show in rockbox.
So i would like to send only the file called folder.jpg from my HD to my Fuze (portable device).

Can your script do this, or is it possible to create a script that does this? And if a script has to be written, do you think it would be hard to code and would it be possible to adapt some of your code to do this?

This script is about modifying your artwork tags, so can't help you with synching. I don't think there's much that can be done via scripting when it comes to synching at all, I'm certainly not aware of anything that would help your situation, sorry.

Actually, your script can help by thinking outside the box. I can use the "extract picture" function and point to my portable device to "sync" the covers manually (way easier than manual copy-paste in windows explorer :) ). All i need would be a way to selectively extract some pictures (and not all), or directly copy from the windows directory containing the tracks jpg files matching a name or something similar. No need to automatically link it to the syncing process.

Dear Trix,
I'm a happy Trixmoto-script user....and I have a question about reshaping my music library.
Running your "Calculate Cover Size" script I have discovered that my audio library has many tracks with:
- A very bad quality album art (small)
- Multiple album arts

I wish I could:
- remove multiple album arts, leaving only one
- remove small album arts
- reload higher quality album arts (500x500, for example)

What strategy would you approach? Maybe I could use Album Art Tagger? Did you test Album Art Tagger thoroughly? Is the script reliable? Any hint about reloading high quality album arts?

I've had no complaints about this script recently, so I assume it's working properly. It can help you remove low quality artwork and multiple images. You could then try my "Batch Art Finder" script to download the missing artwork, specifying a minimum quality.

Your thoughts about removing low quality Covers?
I see that all tracks bought on iTunes have multiple ones... is there any drawback?
At the moment I'm using them on my smartphone with a very large screen...

Not sure really, you could use option 06 (Remove artwork not matching size) if you wanted a specific size. If guess there could do with being an option that allowed you to specify "less than" or "greater than" as well as "equal to".

I have cleaned up all the rubbish, and changed all the album arts with in-tag 300/500 pixels. Once done I have exported all the arts with your superb script as a backup!
Works like a charm, thanks a lot.
The whole library has only one in-tag album art, per track. I hope there aren't drawbacks using bigger images, however my computer (with medimonkey) and my phone (android based) have no glitches at all.

I had an error while setup, after running as admin the error was gone but I can't find any features added to MM, did I miss looking in the right place?

It should be under Tools -> Scripts -> Album Art Tagger
