5.03 debug version for daily use??

Post by Rob_S »

I see the 5.03 beta is only available in a debug version.

Before I go and install this, can anyone tell me:

- if it will run about the same as the regular version?

- how to deal with a growing number of debug logs?

- can this be turned off until required to document an issue?

- any other considerations?

Thanks

Yes, it runs pretty much the same as a regular version. Logs are captured with DebugView, so no log accumulation.

It is however, a fair bit slower starting up I find. And I'm running completely on RAID SSD cards ;) Not a big problem, I just thought it wasn't starting at first. [ed. for spelling]

Yes, debug version is mostly at least twice slower to start (based on my tests)

Hey Ludek, you're sure it's not a feature?  See below:

"I used to think Twitter just loaded a little slowly because that’s how long it took, but it turns out that it’s a feature not a bug. Twitter, Instagram, and other social media sites reportedly artificially lengthen the time between when you click on the app and when the content shows up in it as a way to increase the sense of anticipation—and keep you coming back again and again."
