I am running MMW5 on Windows 10. Everytime I insert a CD for ripping I get this message "This Audio CD was not found in MusicBrainz".
Is there a resources other than MusicBrainz or FreeDB that is being maintained with metadata content and accessible with MMW5?
Is there a way for a user to add the content to MusicBrainz?
Thanks,
Dale

No, these are the options for CD lookup. Which Build (Help > About) are you using and does it happen for all CD's?
For me most (commercial) CD's are found by the MusicBrainz lookup.

Re: This Audio CD was not found in MusicBrainz
Hi Dale,
MusicBranz is a community maintained database.
See here for how to add to it.
I have never tried it, so can't comment about how easy it is.
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.
Re: This Audio CD was not found in MusicBrainz
A better way is to use ripper software such as dbpoweramp. It accesses a number of music metadata services. Usefully one of them is discogs which has a larger source of metadata than musicbrainz (which it also accesses).
Re: This Audio CD was not found in MusicBrainz
Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the trial and ripped the disc which couldn't be found with MM5 using MusicBrainz in both cases. dbpoweramp found it instantly along with the cover art. Based upon this single experience, dbpoweramp should save me a lot of time and frustration.

Re: This Audio CD was not found in MusicBrainz
I don't think that dbpoweramp does a better audio job of ripping a cd than MM but it sure is superior in metadata. I've also had to resort to MP3TAG to do some tagging since MM does not provide or use WORK and PART tags. I've also had to resort to another music player since MM5 provides much poorer support for classical music than MM4 does. Until 5 has some equivalent to 4's Linked Tracks add-on or provides some other way to play a classical multi-part composition as a unit (NOT by adding all part tracks one-by-one to Now Playing) other solutions will be necessary.dchamb wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 3:02 pm

I agree, and would further say that dBpower amp is generally a better ripping tool. Not too surprising because dbPoweramp is a specialist ripping tool, while MM has a Me-To ripping facility, which is additional to their own specialisation function.
Ludek once asked me why I had this opinion.
Here is my answer. These points are additional to the Metadata issue, which had been discussed earlier in that thread. That was a year and half ago, but most of my points still hold true.
