Can MM be used concurrently with ITunes on the same devices?

I use MM to manage my ipods. I had to install iTunes due to MM not working properly with iPod classic and nano. I'd like to export some Audible audio books to my Ipods and I know MM doesn't support .aa files and is unlikely to due to DRM.

I spoke w Audible support today and they told me that iTunes can be used to manage and export Audible files to ipods.

Can I use MM to manage my music and iTunes to manage my Audible books on my Nano and Classic? This will be my first time trying to use iTunes w my ipods bc I've always just used MM before.

I used to do exactly that. I did music only via MM and Audible books via iTunes. I have since switched to managing my Audible books strictly via the Audible app, and I prefer this method.
