I have only recently migrated from using iTunes to using MM5, and thought it would be much better to run MM off my NAS, as that's where the music files are stored, and I'd like to have a 'central' library.
I *think* I have successfully installed MMS on my Synology NAS (I followed the instructions step-by-step, as I am new to PuTTY and WinSCP).
I created a folder /volume2/mediamonkeyserver (my main volume is 2 for some reason...), and extracted it. I have also, as suggested in another post, set up scripts in 'Task Scheduler' to run MMS on boot, then restarted my NAS. What are the next steps? When I first installed it and ran ./mms in PuTTY, the dialogue reported that it couldn't find 'music' or 'videos' subfolders in my 'Home' folder, so looks like it has installed correctly, but I need to configure MMS to look for my 'Music' shared folder as opposed to my home folder.
Is there a user interface included with the Linux MMS package, or am I missing the point of it?
Thanks.
I have set up MMS on my Diskstation, what now?
Re: I have set up MMS on my Diskstation, what now?
Update: I have deduced that I can access the UI by going to:
192.168.**.** (server address):10223
I have amended the path of the 'Music' folder, and I assume it is now indexing that folder.
Should 'MediaMonkey Server' now appear under 'Devices & Services'?
It doesn't.

Hi,
MMS do not have sync function yet, but support DLNA, for UI you use browser and connect to MMS port http://<IP OF DISKSTATION>:10222/
Also I suggest that you use MM5 to sync and manage MMS installation.

Yes, I have.Peke wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 7:43 amIt should, Have you tried to add it manually?JamFestival wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 6:56 am Should 'MediaMonkey Server' now appear under 'Devices & Services'?

I am trying the path 192.168.68.107:10223 in the 'Server IP address:port' field (this is what opens MMS in the browser), with Device Description file path: DeviceDescription.xml
I get an error:
192.168.68.107:10223/DeviceDescription.xml cannot be reached. Error: Connection Closed Gracefully.
Sure enough, entering 192.168.68.107:10223/DeviceDescription.xml into a browser returns 'This page isn't working' in a browser.
Is this a config issue with my NAS?

Update:
I tried instead with:
192.168.68.107:10222/description.xml
...and it appears to connect now.

Hi,
NOTE: 10222 is main port and if it is used then 10223 is used as backup.
