Casting

Post by dang102 »

It looks like casting isn't working in MediaMonkey 5.0.4.2655 Alpha ... PS. would be nice if it would cast to other devices like roku...

Hi,
Roku do not support Casting only Miracast and some Apple protocols from Roku OS 11 on supported devices.

I Guess you can try this approach as seen in this video to mirror whole PC screen to Roku.

EDIT: Check if Miracast function is supported on your PC via command prompt:
  1. Open "Start" menu.
  2. Type "cmd" it should open the search box and open Command prompt.
  3. Type "netsh wlan show drivers" and hit "Enter" key.
  4. Look for "Wireless Display Supported", if it shows "Yes", your laptop or PC will support the Miracast.

Casting (to Chromecast) is working for me in build 2655.

Sometimes it has failed to work (ie only local speaker displayed when clicking on the icon at the bottom of the screen) in recent versions, and a restart of the laptop will make the Chromecast Speaker available again.
Using 5.1 LATEST alpha or beta build on Windows 10, HP laptop, managing 13k tracks

That could be Router and/ir Windows firewall blocks some/all unicast/multicast packets transmitted thru LAN.
