I am currently using MM5.0.4.2655
I've activated for months and always worked perfectly:
Tools>Options...General
...Check for updates
... Include beta builds

I choose Menu > Help...check for updates
Message: MediaMonkey 5.0.4.2655 is the current version

After that I directly downloaded and installed the beta version MM5.0.4.2656 Alpha.

It was the same for me.
In fact, it should be recognized automatically.

Hi,
Auto Updates usually follow release in few days. Secondly 5.0.4. is in Alpha stages not Beta so Auto updates may not work.
