Monitoring not being followed?

Post by terrypin »

Only just noticed this. The folders I want monitored are all under Music. But MediaMonkey still shows many others!

Remains the same on MM restart and whatever options I choose in this window. Nothing is getting deleted.

Need to work with MM right now so meanwhile I have used File > Clear Database which is now running. (Looks like it will be a slow process!)

I'd still like to understand what was wrong. I can recover my 'old' DB from my nightly backup to try any solutions offered.

MediaMonkey doesn't delete files from the Library if they're not selected in Add/Rescan to be scanned. You'll need to delete those locations from the Media Tree if you no longer want them included.

Thanks, but I don't really follow. I thought that Add/Rescan was intended to ensure the database contained only the files specified in the scan dialog?

No, Add/Rescan is meant to scan files into the Library. There is no need to rescan everything if you only added files in one folder. So Add/Rescan does not delete files.
