I've been using Media Monkey 5 on my Android phone for quite a while now and I'm considering upgrading to the Pro version so that I can use Wi-Fi Sync.
However, I don't fully understand how it works: specifically, how does my phone become associated with my MM library on my desktop? What steps do I have to take when setting it up?
My understanding so far is that my library (on the desktop) is sent via a MM server to my phone and the play counts and rating changes on the phone are sent back to desktop library the same route. Or have I go this completely wrong? (I'm getting on in years and it's all a bit above my limited experience of servers.)
I did check a few posts and MM Wiki pages about Wi-Fi Syncing, but I'm none-the-wiser yet. One of the MM Wiki pages referred to the Clients tab on the options to configure the existing Media Server, but I don't see the Clients tab. Is that because I haven't yet upgraded?

Re: How does Wi-Fi Sync work?
You set this up in MMA: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/Sync_M ... oid_device You can do so from Options in MMA.
A Media Server running in MMW is required: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... ervers/5.0

Re: How does Wi-Fi Sync work?
Thank you for your reply. I did read both the articles that you linked to before I posted originally.
Re-reading them, I have now found the Clients tab (and the Server tab), but I'm still confused by this because on both my phone and my tablet, when I have tried the trial version of Wi-Fi Sync in MMA, the "free trial" has always stated 0 days remaining on both devices, even though I've never used it and never tried to set it up (because the 0 days remaining put a stop on that).
By experimenting now, I have managed to get the UpnP feature to work (I assume the 30 minute trial version). Does this mean that the Wi-Fi Sync feature will work if I purchase the upgrade, or does that fact that the trial version doesn't work suggest there is a problem?
Thank you in advance.

Re: How does Wi-Fi Sync work?
Yes, if UPnP playback is working, wi-fi Sync should also work.
