Is downgrading to version 4 possible after a non-portable install of v5?
After upgrading to version 5 my experience is there are many crashes and unexpected interface issues that make me want to go back to version 4.

Which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey 5 are you using? The developers are there to resolve any problems.
MediaMonkey 4 remains installed next to MediaMonkey 5 when upgrading to MediaMonkey 5.

Please capture any crashes in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=86643
This will allow a developer to analyze why this happens on your setup.
