Hi,
We've been unable to replicate this problem
The various workarounds (setting region / deleting the cpplayer.ini file) don't seem to be working, so can someone generate and share a debug log of this issue using the latest debug build of MMW 2024 (ideally very soon since we're on the cusp of releasing MediaMonkey 2024)?
Instructions to do so are at step 4b at: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=86643
Hopefully that'll help us figure out why this is happening in these cases.
Thanks!

Increasing difficulty ripping CDs

Re: Increasing difficulty ripping CDs
I also have an external HP CD/DVD drive and have had some CD-ripping issues (on Win10 not 11, and not the issues reported here), so I was interested in the Region setting. For my CD/DVD drive (bought new with a HP PC from HP in Australia) the region is currently unallocated with 5 allowed changes remaining. If it aint broke, I'm not fixing it.dwkurfman wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2024 12:12 pm ... I did go into the Device Manager and noted that the Region was not correctly set for my outboard HP CD unit. I corrected it, rebooted my machine (Lenovo on Windows 11), ensured I started MM in administrator mode, and everything began working normally again. No idea what the real root cause was, but thought I would post here for the record.
I have not seen the issue with MM offering previous scanned tracklists for subsequent rips. CD ripping now works fairly reliably for me, apart from a complete absence of data for obscure Australian releases.
My understanding is that you have to restart MM before the renaming of cdplayer.ini has the effect of a fresh copy being generated. Is it possible that the restart element of the test was missed? Feel free to correct me if wrong.
Cheers
