Ctrl key while clicking on the artwork in the "List (by Ablum)" [#19584 #19600]

Post by tbm72 »

In the latest build (5.0.4.2690) I've started getting these 2 errors one after the other when I've added new tracks to the library and then try to bulk select them all:

I'm doing exactly the same thing I've always done when adding new tracks and this error only started happening on the latest release.

Basically I drag new tracks into the library then in List By Album view I click on the image in the artwork column of those tracks in order to bulk select them so I can edit their properties. At that point I instantly get the error. Happens every time.

Hi,
Try to rename persistent.json and delete persistent.bak and then start MM.

It looks like UI settings got corrupted.

If it repeats please follow steps to create full debug log.

Just to clarify, in my portable folder I currently have:

persistent.json
persistent.json.bck

So I delete the existing persistent.json.bck and rename the existing persistent.json to persistent.json.bck?

The instruction was to rename persistent.json to persistent.bak not persistent.bck. In the end it doesn't really matter you can also name it persistent.json.off as long as MediaMonkey is forced to create a new persistent.json and you can revert to the old one if you wish to do so later.

Hi,
this is not related to persistent.json

I can replicate this issue, but only when I press Ctrl key while clicking on the artwork in the "List (by Ablum)" view.
Can you confirm that you are using the Ctrl key?

Anyhow thanks for reporting, to be fixed as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=19584

Yes, it seems to be only when using Ctrl key, in which case it happens at any time in List By Album view and using Ctrl key. So it's not specifically related to just adding new tracks, it happens all the time if using Ctrl key in that specific view.

Post by Rang Dang Doo »

If I try to use the Ctrl key to multiselect by the artwork in 'list (by Album)' mode I now get this Application Error:
"Read lock not acquired!"
Seems to be at line 426 in file://templates.js:182:40

Fairly major bug

MM 5.0.4.2690
Regular install

List by album view

Click on the artwork for an album
Then hold down control and click another album's artwork (ie, so you are trying to select two albums)

Following errors pop up - one on the left first, then the one on the right once you've clicked Continue. Clicking Continue on the second one lets you keep using MM as normal.

Where would I find these files? Can't see them anywhere...

I have noticed that I had two versions of MM5 installed - one regular and one portable. The Portable version had the persistent.json and the other file but it is the regular install of MM5 that I have been using.

In any case I have removed the portable version as it wasn't the one I was running - but it hasn't solved the problem...

The issue has already been fixed in a yet to be released version. No further action is needed. Please do test when the next version is released.

Excellent, thanks.

Has this fixed the issue that I think is possibly related;

1. Click on a playlist that is in List by Album view
2. Click on an album cover
3. Hit delete
---- expectation is that the track will be deleted from the playlist, instead MM asks if you want to delete the whole playlist
