G-force visualization

G-force visualization
Does anyone know how to get the Soundspectrum G-force visualization to work with MM??? I'm new to MM and like it so far but I can't seem to get the visualization to work. I've un/re installed and tried to move the files into the correct folder (plugins and scripts) but MM5 just isn't recognizing the file no matter what I do.
Re: G-force visualization
Hi,
MM5 do not support Winamp visualizations.
MM5 do not support Winamp visualizations.

Re: G-force visualization
G-Force visualisation is mindblowing beautiful. I can still not understand why it is still not possible to use it together with Mediamonkey 5/2024. I am therefore now back to Mediamonkey 4 ... YES.
Althought MM5 is better organized and beautiful (despite mostly showing the wrong atrist in the artist info pane, and its frequent crashes if you have a large collection), it still lacks the connection to G-Force.
If you install MM4 as portable, and copy the dll s from G-Force (vis_G-Force.dll or/ vis_Aeon.dll) into C:\MediaMonkey 4\Plugins folder, then it will work neatly (install G-Force with MM support and copy dlls from Program Files/Mediamonkey folder...).
When I want to enjoy G-Force I run MM4... (note that the Mic-plugin from G-Force lags behind and require louder volume settings and is therefore not really a solution).
So it would be great if we can get back the Winamp visualisation for MM5. I would even pay for it!!!

Re: G-force visualization
Unfortunately that is not possible as MM5+ visualizations can't use Winamp plugins due the unified multi platform support and will not be brought back. Have youu tried to ask G-Force developers to make one for MM specifically? They would surely benefit out of it and integration would be much better and faster than one we can do by emulating support.
Personally I preferred https://www.soundspectrum.com/whitecap/ Visualization over G-Force when used it in MM2/3.

Re: G-force visualization - 2 ways for a solution
Thank you for your reply. Like my father always said, "...where there's a will there is a way..." so I understand that there are no plans to connect MM5 to G-Force visualisations. Understood.
But let me share what I tried yesterday after my first post to find a way around.
(updated and corrected 2024/12/19)
===============================================================================
MEDIAMONKEY Version 5/2024 works with G-Force Platinum (2018 and 2024 version tested)
===============================================================================
I tried two things to have G-Force work with MM5 with virtual audio driver software for audio loopback (not using the Microphone):
a) Soundspectrum Audio Cable (Stereo Out in device list needs to be selected inside G-Force)
(included with the Platinum editions of G-Force)
https://www.soundspectrum.com/g-force/
b) VB-Audio Virtual Cable (Cable Output in device list needs to be selected inside G-Force)(thank you Eugene for correct name of the software)
https://vb-audio.com/Cable/index.htm
Here I will only explain "Soundspectrum Audio Cable" as I could not get the volume control to work with "VB-Audio Virtual Cable".
"Soundspectrum Audio Cable" is included in the Platinum software package from G-Force. This works well even without an integration into Mediamonkey (with version 5 this was not available anymore and gave me some headaches ).
1. When installing G-Force (Platinium) select to install Soundspectrum Audio Cable. (Note: There is no need to install Mediamonkey plugin unless you use MM version 4)
2. After install open "Sound" in the control panel of Windows.
Important Note: You need to turn up the volume in Windows to the max before you do the settings here. There may be a little bug that limits later the volume change above that point it was when doing the settings (even it would show 100% but you may note that there is some boost missing!) On my system (Surface Studio) I had this problem and I write this here in case you may have it too.
3. Stop playing sound and turn the volume of Windows to 100%.
4. In the Sound settings
a) Select Playback tab > right click on "Stereo In" and set as Default device.
b) Select Recording tab > right-click on "Stereo Out" and select "Properties".
General tab > on the bottom "Device usage" select "Use this device (enable)".
Select Listen tab > check the box "Listen to this device", in "Playback through this device" select your speaker you
normally would use.
Note that you can always later change output speakers later through Windows as before. Here you set the playback speaker you would like to use with G-Force visualisation active.
Press the "OK" button (closing the Properties and Sound window).
5. Run Medimonkey and play some music, start G-Force visualisation (Windows Start Menu) and in the settings change the audio source to "Stereo In"
Although no microphone is in use, the loopback is registered as a recording device and you may note a microphone icon in the notification area of Windows.
If you select an other speaker than "Stereo In" in Windows sound output then sound will playback on that device. If you want G-Force visualisation react on the sound select "Stereo In" as sound output.
Now let's enjoy G-Force - the best in visualisation with Mediamonkey 2024 - the best music-media-player-database...

Re: G-force visualization - 2 ways for a solution
This virtual audio software is called VB-Cable or VB-Audio Virtual Cable. The Virtual Audio Cable is a different software. Please don't confuse them.

Re: G-force visualization
The main reason for the confusion was the use of the product name (Virtual Audio Cable) to refer to another product (VB-Cable).
To avoid confusion, it is advisable to always refer to each product using its own name.
