Not permitted to delete files [#19875]

Post by Bion »

When I try to delete music files am I met with the request to grant access. When trying to do so do I get the error message that that path was not requested.
All permissions are set for MM on the phone.
I'm running MM ver. 2.0.0.1070 on a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 56 with Android version 13.

Hi,

Thanks for the report--I'm able to replicate a variant of this. Tracking at https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=19875 .

To make sure I'm understanding, when you say that "All permissions are set for MM on the phone" do you mean that when you installed MMA, you successfully granted all of the permissions that you were prompted for? And then when you attempted to delete a track, MM prompted to grant permissions again (but failed to do so successfully because of the path not requested error)?

Hi,
This is fixed in 1073 Build, which is waiting for Google on publishing and pushing it to play store.

Seems like the issue hasn't been solved yet. I have just updated to build 1074 and the problem still remain.

Hi,
was there any changes after update and have you tried to add some folder to MMA Library? It should ask you for permissions if they are still not set.

Sorry,
no changes, even with build 1076 and permissions for folder set again.

Hi Bion,

I'm unable to replicate this :-(

Can you replicate the bug, and then submit a debug log (from the menu, click Help > Send logs) and share the log ID here?

That'll help us better understand the problem.

Thanks!

fyi this might be an issue that occurs on certain Samsung devices. The problem and a solution are described here:

Hi,
thanks for the suggestion, but this doesn't apply here - the music library is not stored on a SD-card but in the phone memory.

Hi again,
seems like it is working now. I uninstalled and installed it again.
