play count only working some times

mm5 mma

i was using a galaxy s10 mm4 everything fine
i started using mm5 play counts stopped working but only on mma, the play counts will transfer over to mm5
ratings will show on mma and mm5
i went back to mm4 everything works fine

then i bought a galaxy s23 and tried mm5 again, same problem
for some reason, sometimes plays will show on mma but out of 200 songs played, it will show 10 of them with a 1 play count

Is the problem the play counts shown in MMA after playing files or the playcounts shown in MMW5 after Syncing with MMA (after playing files on MMA)?

the problems is them not showing up on mma. they transfer properly to mmw5. i would just like to be able to see them on mma as well

plays in mma are being counted, but only on mmw, they wont show as played on mma

example: if i put a mmw song with 5 plays onto mma it will show as 5 plays on both...all good. then if i play that same song on mma once, then sync to mmw it will show on mmw as being played 6 times, but on mma it will still show as 5 plays

if i do this with a song with zero plays, mma will still show 0 and mmw as 1 play

Hi,

I can't replicate a sync problem, but there's currently a refresh bug in the MMA playing list that could be causing this: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=19922 . i.e. if you're checking the play count by right-clicking on tracks in the Playing List after syncing, then they won't show up with the updated play counts.

Can you confirm whether this is what you're observing (if it's a refresh bug, then changing the playing list and then reverting to the original playing list will cause the metadata to display correctly)?

The 'Played #' column is in MMW, which as far as I understood, is displaying counts correctly.

What I'm suggesting is that updated play counts will display incorrectly in MMA via the following path:
Playing > Queue OR Art tab > Properties > Played

On the other hand, updated play counts should display correctly in MMA if you look at them via the following path:
Music > Artist > ArtistName > Track > Properties > Played

Is that what's happening for you?
