Transfer layout to other node

I have created a couple of layouts under "All Tracks" based on "List by album" view modified with different columns and widths displayed, and with specified sort order.

These modified layouts are not available for me to select in some nodes ie the "Playlists" node. They do not appear in the list.

Is there any reason why, and is there any way to make such modified layouts available in all nodes when I save them?

If I was to create them in some other node than "all tracks" would they become more generally available?

Is this being considered as a feature request or interface improvement handling of custom views?
