Re: IOS17
Well good point. The first install went overtop mm5. I did end up creating a new directory and installed the beta version but again, no mm5 question, only mm4.
The new directory install did install but upon execution, it seemed to loop and did not really create a new instance on mm5.
I also executed the current version of MM5 with the beta updated in the current directory and everything executed fine except it still does not like my iPhone with ios17. It recognizes the phone but state it is read only.

Re: IOS17
Please capture the start of MediaMonkey and then the connecting of the device in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: viewtopic.php?t=86643
iTunes works normally with the device?

Re: IOS17
quick update: iPhone 13 with ios 17.0.2. Synch issue
Installed the debug version
Started MM5 from the new debug directory and received no messages regarding MM4 or MM5. All music and playlists were intact.
Ran a couple of synchs on playlists and they worked fine. Might be my imagination but I swear they ran faster. Anyway I have more testing to do but so far so good
Another update.......Ran more synchs and they are running faster. A 1.7 GIG playlist used to take 75 minutes and now it takes 21 minutes. don't know who to thank for this but THANKS!
Noticed something else......Update Playlist Order is no longer an option when changing the sort field like date. The sort does not hold when navigating to a different playlist. Sort works when in the playlist but saving does not.

i0S 17 Update!
So, what kind of time frame are we looking at here for the official release of a MMW5 update that allows for iOS 17?
I am asking for a friend.

Re: IOS17
oh little things. sorry i didn't keep a detailed list, i was pretty involved in my own tasks at the time.
here's something i can report. the monkey was having trouble reading some album directories. every rescan of the library it would add the same files, and on top of that screw up the meta data on some.
they were .flac files, and the directories had .cue files. removing the .cue files fixed the adding every time. the ones that were getting the info screwed up in them also had .m3u playlists. removing those and fixing the info corrected the problem.
there were little things, i'll put some more thought into it and see if i can throw you some.

Re: IOS17
The CUE file issue should've been resolved already on the latest beta.

Re: IOS17
little thing:
not bring over the album art saved in the tags on every file (unknown reasons)
not being able to save tag album art to those same files while on the phone.
i say that's a little thing, but it really gnaws at me...

Re: IOS17
Please open separate forum topics for each issue (unless a topic exists for it), so the discussion here remains focused to iOS17.
And provide more detail as that would seem to work just fine.
