MMA with Synology Media Server

Post by Thinqer77 »

Hi,

I'm trying to add my Synology Media Server to MMA (on local network) and don't seem to be able to do it. When I try to add the server, it wants to know where the Device Description file is, but I'm not sure that the Synology has one, and no matter what I put it says it can't connect (have tried various ports and there is no firewall blocking them as far as I can tell).

I also don't seem to have an option to add a UPnP or DLNA server to MMA (I have the full Pro version of the app) both of which I think the Synology should show up as.

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks.

Generally it would be auto-discovered. Are you sure a DLNA Server is enabled on the NAS and that your phone is on the same network (not a guest wi-fi)?

Hi,
Do you see Server in MM5 on Windows? Or in Any other apps?
