[REQ] TV and Movies Video Resolution for Collections [#21024]

Post by IanRTaylorUK »

It is possible to display a "Resolution" column for <TYPE> equals TV and Video (Music Video? and Video Podcast?).

However, resolution does not appear to be included in list of fields for matching criteria in the Collection Options dialogue.

Please could <Resolution> be added to the criteria for collections so that Collections can be displayed for SD (say less than 1300 x 800); HD ( 1301 to 2000 x 801 to 1300) and UHD (2001 to 4000 x 1301 to 2200) movies / videos / TV Series.

This seems to present an interesting challenge as - it appears to me - that resolution is stored in a single text field! So I suppose there would need to be some "unpacking" of the text field (1280x640; 1980x800; 1440x1080; 1920x1080; 3840x1920; 3840 x 2160) to expose the two "dimensions"

I have tried to see if this is an existing request but not found anything specific. Hope this makes sense.

There is no need for that because res is same, but due teh different aspect ratio it shows different resolution.

eg. 1440x1080; 1920x1080 are both 1080p but different Aspect Ratio https://andrew.hedges.name/experiments/aspect_ratio/

EDIT: I added that also into To-Do under https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=21026

good catch added as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=21024
Thanks for adding this request. Just getting started using MMW for videos and I think this will help when devices not capable of showing higher resolutions (and / or "wide" aspect ratios).
