Hi,
I'm attempting to sync two playlists to a Majority Pro player. They have 147 and 306 songs respectively.
All seems good while the sync progresses, each file in the list is copied across and finally the playlist file and meta data
However on the player the number of songs is shown as 55 and 87 respectively - i.e. not all copied over
Help please
TIA
Martin
Synching playlists problem

Re: Synching playlists problem
Which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey are you using?
Did you check on device itself if the files are actually missing (or they are there and not seen by the player)?

The build number is 5.0.5.2695
I believe all the files are present on the player in mp3 format

Re: Synching playlists problem
So, is the problem that the Playlist fails to show all the files on the player? Despite the files being there? Was there any Auto-Conversion that happened to the media files Synced?

Re: Synching playlists problem
Yes, the playlist, as shown on the player, does not show all the files. The number of files shown in the playlist on the player is substantially less than shown on the MM5 UI.
I'm not aware of any auto-conversion having taken place during sync - how might I know this ?
The player supports MP3/WMA/OGG/APE/FLAC/WAV/ AA/AAX formats

Re: Synching playlists problem
If the files are a different format than on PC, Auto-Conversion happened.
I'd suggest trying Sync with the latest MediaMonkey 2024 build.
Also, if there is a way to see the actual Playlist file itself (like copy the file from device to PC and open in Notepad), can you verify if the Playlist file is actually missing files?

Re: Synching playlists problem
OK,
I'll try the latest version later - I'm trying yet another sync at the moment, after reformatting the player
I only downloaded MM5 a couple of days ago - has it changed that much ?
I've looked the playlist files - both have the correct number of files in them - 95% are .mp3, a few .wma and a few .flac

Re: Synching playlists problem
If the Playlist files themselves are correct, it's likely an issue with the Players ability to read them. Unfortunately that means you'll need to find a pattern to files missing (like certain characters, exceeding a certain path length) or you'll need to contact the device manufacturer to find out what limitations the device has to reading Playlist files.
The new MediaMonkey is unlikely to fix anything as the problem is likely with the device itself on what it can handle regarding Playlists. You can always try though, never know if anything changes.
MediaMonkey 2024 is a version update over MediaMonkey 5, so it comes with many feature updates and bug fixes.
