After hours of struggle I did solve this problem. I'm posting all this in case someone else has a similar problem. After getting a "file inaccessible" error on the track Sailor no matter which track I tried to play I selected another track and use Play Now. Problem vanished!
I hadn't started MediaMonkey for awhile and my configuration has not changed from the prior use. I running 5.0.5.2695.
My db is on my C drive. My music is on a NAS drive. The NAS is always mapped with drive letter Z: but maybe drive letter don't matter. The directory structure to my music on my NAS is gw\Music\[my categories]\[artist]\...\[file]. I can play any of the tracks with Media Player. I've done a Rebuild database and Clean URL cache.
The exact error message, no matter which track I try to play is:
Playback failed: C:\Users\gwwin\Appdata\Roaming\MediaMondey5\
[gw]\Music\Pop\Petula Clark\Sailor.mp3 is inaccessible.
The error always references this track and the track does exist in that path.
When I started MM the Path for all tracks were for [gw]\Music\.... I then did a Locate moved/missing files. All the Paths then changed to Z:\Music\...
I still get the same error referencing the Sailor track with [gw] not Z:
I have backed up database files but going back to an older database has the same results.
If I use Open URL or File and browse to the Sailor file it plays OK.
I could start all over building the database but I don't want to lose my Playlists. I do have backups of my Playlists. The path in my m3u files exported back in 2021 have a path of ..\music. Playlists I just exported have a path of ..\..\Music\...
Trying to play any song in a Playlist gets the same Sailor track error.
I have a copy of all the tracks on a removable SSD that is always attached to my system. If somehow the NAS is now a problem I could use the music folder on the SSD. I just don't want to lose my Playlists.
I don't believe I finally solved the problem!

This is why Mapped Drives are not recommended to be used in MediaMonkey. Windows tends to occasionally change the driveID on Mapped Drives, which is shouldn't, and this causes the files to become inaccessible.
Manually re-assign drive can be used to fix this when it happens.

Hi, and Thanks,
I manually map several of my drives so they are constant. The NAS is always Z. No change over the years. You can also set USBs to always have the same drive letter when inserted.
