Copy & Paste Metadata

Post by cnbehler »

Please develop the functionality to copy & paste metadata (including ratings, playlist info and play history) within MM5. This is to mimic the VERY useful MM4 Advanced Duplicate Find & Fix add-on. The use case: when a CD is re-ripped to a different format or higher bitrate, I need to easily transfer the tags associated with the older version to the newer version for ALL tracks in the CD ("list to list"), and to optionally delete the older version.

Because of this missing feature in MM5, I've gone back to MM4 because it is so onerous, error prone and time consuming to do the above in MM5. And I'm not the only loyal MM user who wants this functionality (see the forum).

Thanks,
Cassandra

Seconded.

This and the lack of track redirection (update all linked tracks when one is played with the same last played date and playcount and when one is edited with the same changes that can be custom set (eg yes for genre but no for album) are the functionalities that keep me from using MM5.

Hi,
Unfortunately that Addon needs to be ported to MM5+

Addon https://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/brow ... ap-fields/ can be really good start for porting it for any interested Developer.

I made one. Do not use on real files, only for testing!
