library files do not appear for rescan

Post by TomLubin »

I have been using media monkey for more then ten years. I’m a gold subscriber running two MM V5 Microsoft( one in the office, one in living room) off the same network NAS. I’ve changed computers (all PC systems) a few times and never had problems with rescanning the library (36000+ entries). I needed to replace one of the computers.
The computer that has been operating for some time with MM5 rescans the NAS library from the correct folders without a hitch. I installed MM5 on the new machine (A Dell) but when I tried to rescan files on the new PC the NAS appears but the three folders on the drive are not correct, nor do any of the library titles appear.
From the Microsoft (10) desktop of the new machine I can access through the network the NAS, and files will play through VLC as well as on the Microsoft player.
What do I need to change on the computer or media monkey to bring the networked dual drive into media monkey with the correct folders on the new machine?
