Performance and vibration management in rack-mounted setups for large FLAC libraries

Hi everyone, I’ve been a loyal MediaMonkey user for years—back from when my library was just a few hundred MP3s. Lately, my collection of FLAC and high-res audio has grown to the point where my standard desktop towers just aren't cutting it anymore. I finally took the plunge and decided to consolidate everything into a more "pro" setup using a dedicated server enclosure.
I recently picked up a 4U rack-mountable chassis [ to house my drives and the MediaMonkey database. It’s been a bit of a learning curve moving away from a traditional PC case, especially when it comes to the logistics of a home rack. One specific point I ran into—which I've seen debated in some hardware circles—is the issue of mechanical vibration and its impact on long-term data integrity. In an industrial server enclosure, you often have high-RPM fans and multiple drives packed closely together. I'm finding that the resonance in these metal racks is much more pronounced than in a padded consumer case.
My personal insight from this transition is that while the organization is great, the noise floor is a real concern if your rack isn't tucked away in a basement or a closet. I'm trying to ensure that my database remains snappy while MediaMonkey scans for new additions, but I’ve noticed that thermal management in a dense rack-mount environment can actually cause some throttling if the airflow isn't managed perfectly. It’s a world away from just plugging in a USB drive!
I’m curious if anyone else here has moved their MediaMonkey library over to a rack-mounted environment? Have you found any specific server enclosures that do a better job at dampening drive vibration, or do you just rely on heavy-duty rails and soundproofing the room itself?
