Ipod 5.5g Won't Shuffle Playlists Over 40,000 Songs

I have a slight issue with my ipod and have searched everywhere online but have not found any answers. It is a 5.5g ipod Video with a 240gb HD stuffed inside of it that was working just fine.
I have a music collection of over 60,000 songs ripped at high quality. (I own a record store and have been collecting CDs since I was about eight years old in case you are wondering.) Anyway, I really wanted to auto convert everything down to VBR 100kbps mp3s on my ipod so that I could fit my whole collection onto my ipod at acceptable quality. However, after weeks of converting in baby steps, I got to over 40,000 songs on my ipod and I realized that it no longer would shuffle songs from the main menu. It would just stop whatever I am playing and freeze for about 15 seconds; then it would go back to normal with no music playing and nothing in the now playing slot. It seems that if the “playlist” is over 40k songs long, the ipod just freaks out and just gives up and pretends you never asked it to play the list. I tried creating a playlist of all my songs and the ipod won’t play it in order either. If I go into the songs node on my ipod and select a song to play, it doesn’t work either. Long story short, anything over about 40,000 tracks any my ipod won’t play the list.
I love to shuffle all of my albums or songs on my ipod and would really hope that my dream of an ipod with 60,000 tracks can become a reality!
By the way, I am also using the newest version of MediaMonkey Gold and absolutely LOVE IT!!!! Have recommended it to many people! THANK YOU MEDIAMONKEY!
