However, when I open up the folder where this file is located, and click (highlight) just that one file, MM just closes. No error, no indication there's anything wrong.
I uninstalled MM, and reinstalled a fresh download of it... same thing.
I downloaded and installed the MM Debug version.... and the same thing happens, without any errors at all. I used Microsoft SysInternals DebugViewer, and captured a log that indicated that MM read the tag for the file... then... nothing.
I've opened the problematic MP3 file in various other programs, including Audacity, VLC Media Player, Windows Media Player (ick!), and others... and nobody else seems to have a problem. I've re-coded the file in Audacity, and MM handles the re-coded file just fine.
I've got thousands of hours of Old Time Radio and podcasts, and this is the first (and only - so far) time this has happened.
Thought I'd bounce this to you folks to see if it can be "allowed for" in future versions. Apparently it's not that common.. but as I don't know that much about the mechanics of MP3 packaging and coding, how would I know?
Obviously, since Audacity has re-coded the file, I'm able to proceed with my usual tasks and listening, but I'd still like to know what-the-heck-happened-here...!
Below is a link to a zip file at SendSpace, containing system info, error log via DebugViewer, and the mp3 file in question (34meg).

Thanks. Oh, and for the record... MM v3.2.0.1294, WinXP Home sp3 on Dell Dim 2400.
