I've just been researching apps to eventually phase out my 2 400 disc CD players. So I've started ripping my approximately 600 CDs to my computer. I was looking for something that had the flexibility of creating playlists with different criteria such as Genre AND something that would play through my network connected Yamaha receiver (RX-V677). I stumbled on MM5 beta today and just installed it with the Gold license upgrade.
I'm thrilled that it works perfectly! I also have a network connected Sony TV (XBR-65AG9) and both devices come up on the casting menu. If I cast it to the TV I see the album cover and track information while it plays through my receiver or TV. Or I can cast it directly to the receiver.
I started playing with MM4 yesterday before I discovered MM5 and was a little disappointed in the GUI since it looks rather outdated with small fonts and monocolor. The MM5 GUI looks much better ! Great redesign !

Sorry to revive this old thread, but this is the same receiver I have, and I also have the latest version with the gold upgrade. I can't get MM to find my Yamaha at all. any suggestions?

Which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey are you using? Do other devices see the Yamaha?

Hey thanks for the reply.
The build(version?) is 5.0.5.2695
And I can't find the Yamaha at all on any devices any more. It used to cast perfectly, but not anymore. I thought upgrading to Gold Lifetime would solve my trouble, but it didn't.

If no device can see the Yamaha, I would start troubleshooting it first. Make sure it still is connected to the network and that casting is enabled (if it can be disabled).

Hi BertShetler !
I too have the Yamaha RX-V677. I downloaded an app (from Google Play...I don't know about the App Store) called Music Cast. It's put out by Yamaha. After setting up the app to work with my receiver, I had MM play to the DLNA/UPnP called Living Room (that's what I called the location in my Music Cast app). Then I played from MM and Voila! I can also control my MM Library from the app once it's been set up.
I hope this helps.
