^^ nevermind, seems this time is actually worked fine! First time!

I wrote that out as the "add files/folder" was running very slowly at the start (as it always does when re-syncing everything), but suddenly picked up speed and finished... not sure if this change in behavior is something that was addressed in the new version or what, but it wasn't the usual 7 hour re-sync.

Hey guys, I'm having the same problem, and it has happened every DST change since I started using Media Monkey.

As soon as the DST changes, MM re-imports all my files, as I have ~40000, this takes some time. Then, I must re-sync all my files to my ipod.

My backup programs do not have this problem, they only sync modified files, but MM seems to think they all have changed and need to be re-imported.

Running Vista HE and MM 3.1.2.279

Hope there is a fix, not the end of the world, but every six months it is a hassle that I suspect could be easily corrected once the problem is identified.

The problem has nothing to do with servers out of time sync or similar - after the anual change back from DST I just had to watch MM "rescanning" all media files too here, the location of the media files being on the same physical HD as the OS.
The OS is Windows XP SP3 btw.

This weekend DST was switched in Germany and as each year in spring and autumn MM started to sync ALL files again.
This problem exists now since years and nothing has changed!
Could you PLEASE have a look into this bug, it is really annoying.

At the moment I have only synced the ipod of my son with about 1500 tracks (which have all synced again).

I have not yet synced my ipod video with about 12000 tracks which take really a long time. Can I set a debug flag or something before I sync to help you to find the bug?

I previously have described my system in detail and I have already provided you with a dbgview.zip file but did not get any response.

MM is really a great program but this ages old bug is really annoying!

In Windows use SUBST to create a drive letter for a HD folder, and in MM create a USB DLL device pointing to that drive letter.

You could do this once for local HD and once for your remote (I assume network) HD, so to get evidence idenpendent of your iPod.

I do not know, but I'd gess that just changing the clock would suffice.

I am not Support, just a user likewise is concerned about MM sync reliability.

BTW, I suggest you check that both of your computers changed to DST, because I can see how a change to only one could cause your failure.

FWIW, my sync via teh USB DLL to a SUBST drive on the same computer after DST change did not show this fault.

Didn't the dbgview.zip file I provided last year give any indication what may cause this problem? As previously described, I have my music stored on a different computer than MM is running. This or another configuration different from yours may cause the problem.

I was not able to reproduce this problem with my iPod or iPhone after DST in the US.

Last weekend daylight saving time started in Germany and when I now synced my Ipod again ALL tracks (over 12000) were copied. This is really an annoying bug which remains already since a long time.

My son just synched his ipod using the standard ipod plugin and as far as he told me on the phone also all files were synched. I will try to catch the ipod of my daughter this night and synch with debug on. I don't know if she has already synched since DST has ended so we will see what happens.[/quote]
I now synched the ipod of my daughter and also with this device all files have been synched. I did the following:

First, I installed the debug version of MM and then the DbgView application. Then I started the DbgView application and afterwards MM. I waited until monitoring finished and then I connected the ipod. Before starting synchronization the number of songs on the ipod was 1701.

I then tried to autosync but the message appeared that there is not enough space on the ipod. So I cancelled synchronization and changed for 189 song genre from Rock;Rachel to Rock. The songs of my daugther are recognized by the genre Rachel, so changing the genre as mentioned means that this 189 songs are no longer synchronized. I then started synchronization again and now the message appeared that 190 songs are to be deleted from the ipod since they are not in the synchronization list. I confirmed and the 189 songs were deleted from the ipod. Then synchroniation started and 1531 songs were synchronized (which are the 1701 original songs minus the 189 changed songs plus 19 songs which were added since the ipod was last synchronized). That means in fact all songs were synchronized which is obviously wrong.
