I'm just looking for some feedback on the best way to arrange my mp3s in MM. I'd like to add more organization to it but I'm not sure of the best way to go about it.
I've got around 2000 mp3s, some of them being full albums (among those a few soundtracks) and others being singles. Up until now I've had a fairly basic file structure. For full albums I use Music/artist/band name/album name and year/ all songs in the album and then I'd dump all the songs in the one album folder. If it's just a handful of singles from an band and not en entire album, I'd just put them directly under the artist folder (eg. Music/Nirvana/ ~individual singles~).
It's worked pretty well but now I'd like an easier way to separate the singles from the entire albums when viewing my music in MM.
I'm thinking the best way to do this would be to use grouping, and use something simple like "single" for the value, add grouping as another column in my main library view, highlight the singles and then put those in a newly created a "singles" playlist. Also, maybe using "soundtrack" as a grouping value to do the same for soundtracks.
I'm wondering if this is the best way to handle something like this or would there be a more efficient way?
Any help would be muchly appreciated. Thanks
